Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day! I hope everyone had a good one! Yesterday Jon and I hung out a bit then picked up a basketball hoop at his dad's. Last night, we put together our grill! We didn't cook on it since we didn't finish putting it together until late, but it's ready to go next weekend....or the next. Today, I went up to my parents house to celebrate an early father's day. My aunt Sharon and uncle Juan and uncle Richard were in from Arizona, so it was nice to see them too! We had fun grilling out and watching people play corn hole. I love three day weekends! I wish I had more of them! Well, I'm going to settle in and watch Twilight (Will I never tire of this pop culture phenomenon? I hope not.) Enjoy your night everyone!

register schmegister....er...what?

*YAWN* Man, I can't seem to wake up today! We woke up this morning and I made pancakes for breakfast cause I'm Betty Crocker like that! Hehe. Anywho, I think we might get a grill today. While registering, we decided to just buy a grill and an outdoor table and chair set. We didn't want to have to wait until September to get them, then keep them in storage until next summer. We have barely begun this summer! So perhaps today we will go get the grill and I will break it in tonight! We'll see. Jon's stomach is questionable this morning, so we're taking it slow. I'm loving today b/a I get to stay tonight! Since I'm off work tomorrow, I get an extra night at home! Woop!
Have any of you checked out Super Mario Galaxy 2? It's awesome! I can't play it b/c it makes me motion sick :( however, I love to watch Jon play! As long as i look away every 10 minutes or so, I'm ok. I wish I could play b/c it looks like so much fun!!!!

Is it weird that I'm totally excited to see what we get off of our registry? I don't want to come off as gift grabby, b/c i don't care if anyone gets us gifts, but now that I've registered, I keep wondering what, if anything we'll get off of it. We registered for some really fun stuff, so I'm excited. Squee!
Well, I'm off to enjoy my Sunday ladies and gents! You enjoy yours too!

RIP Dennis Hopper

RIP Dennis Hopper. Thank you for all the entertainment you gave us.

register you say?

We are officially registered! Yea! We decided just to register at Target. Anything we needed, they had, so why register somewhere else! Big check done! We decided not to register for a grill and a table and chairs for the backyard. We are going to buy those ourselves so that we have them to use this summer. WE have 159 items on our registry. Is that good? Anyone know?
Jon and I started designing our invites. So far so good. Now we just have to figure out how to print them!
Tonight, we are going to Sonnie and Phil's for dinner. Some of Phil's family is in town so I get to meet and greet.
One week from today, I will be at my bachlorette party! I'm so excited!
Sorry for the short post, but it's a busy weekend! Have fun my internet lovelies!

Wedding Updates

Oy to the ve! 3 1/2 months till the wedding! I'm starting to feel the pressure. I have checked a lot off of my list but I still haven't decided 100% on the centerpieces. I think we are going to get plastic martini/champagne glasses and fill them with m&m's and skittles. that combined with red and clear stones and votive candles are the for sure's on the tables. I'm still deciding on a focal point. I saw in the Martha Stewart Spring wedding issue that they took plain boxes and put ribbon around them and used those as the center pieces. I'm thinking about doing plain white or black craft boxes and tying aqua yarn around them. Stack two for each table. It's hard to explain, but I think it's gonna look good. Jon likes the idea too.
Tomorrow, we are going to register! I think we are just going to register at Target. It has everything we need/want to register for, so we don't feel a need to register anywhere else. Wish us luck, every time we try to register something goes wrong. I hope it works out this time!
We are scheduled to meet with our photographer on June 12th to discuss our wants/needs. I put together a folder with examples of photos we like the style of, thier contact info, and I'm working on a list of must takes. The must takes will probably mostly be just the typical family/wedding party/portrait shots. I want the rest of them to be almost spontaneous and not posed.
I need to email the caterer to verify a couple things and if I'm getting my hair done, I need to make that appointment. I just can't decide if I want to have my hair done. I like the convenience and it will take stress away on the day of, but I just hate paying someone to do my hair. I'll probably do it though. I'm pretty sure my bm's want their hair did, so we can make a morning of it.
I have begun work on our programs. Jon and I want to make them unique, and we both like the idea of doing a comic book inspired program. We'll see if it works out.
We have had 2 of our 4 pre-marital counseling sessions. We have scheduled our 3rd. We need to schedule an appointment with the pastor who will be marrying us to discuss how the ceremony will go.
We are working on deciding on the music for the ceremony and reception. Jon is so picky about music, it's taking forever! I can't complain, at least he has input!
Here's a pic of the classic beauty Princess Grace in her wedding duds from we heart it. I'm off to check more wedding stuff.

Top Two Tuesday

Ok so I saw this, I don’t remember where, but I had it on my list of blog to do’s. So without further ado, my top two this Tuesday are
1. I get to see Jon tonight!!
2. I remembered TGIF

OK, does anyone else remember TGIF? I loved that block every Friday night! Full House, Boy Meets World, Perfect Strangers, Family Matters, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Step by Step! I loved them all! I miss the 90’s sometimes. That decade had rockin’ tv! I so need to get all these shows on DVD!!!! I don’t watch that much tv anymore b/c all it seems to be is reality shows that I don’t care for. I tend to watch boxed sets of my favorites, so it’s really a need to get and not a want to get right? Right?!??! Would it be tacky to register for some of these? Hm….

i run from adulthood

“When you're young, your whole life is about the pursuit of fun. Then, you grow up and learn to be cautious. You could break a bone or a heart. You look before you leap and sometimes you don't leap at all because there's not always someone there to catch you. And in life, there's no safety net. When did it stop being fun and start being scary?”
- Carrie
{Sex and the City

When did life get so adult? When did I have to start thinking about big scary grown up things? I’m sorry, but no matter how old and adult you get, some things will always scare the bajesus out of me! And at what point, may I ask, did I get so dangerously close to my parents age?! Sheesh! Can I be 17 again and think there are no consequences to my actions?! Just for a little bit?! Hm?!?!?!? I suppose not. Now I’m not saying that I don’t enjoy being an adult, I totally do! Totally! It’s just those big scary unpleasant things that I don’t enjoy. But then who does? No one, she answers herself. I’m suddenly singing the Facts of Life theme song in my head. You know, “You take the good you take the bad you take them both and then you have the facts of life…the facts of life!” Man I loved that show. And there’s the 10 year old carefree me popping up! And so to focus on the positive, here are things that made my adult self happy today!

Getting married (v. adult thing to do, well it should be anyway, lol)
Going to lunch at Moe’s with my friend Jessica
Looking at pretty wedding photos to get ideas for discussing with our photog
Drinking Coke whenever I want!
Listening to Bob and Tom whilst driving to work
Cursing whilst getting cut of while driving to work, and no consequences for the naughty words uttered!
Dreaming of being at my very own house this weekend (I own a house…very adult!)

In other news (do I say that too much?) tomorrow Jon and I have our second pre-marital counseling session. Hopefully this will make tomorrow go fast. I hope this whole week goes fast! I’m wishing my weeks away! I really do live for the weekends. This darn work thing gets in the way of my living!

Hot and Humid, say what?!

Ah Sunday. Wish the weekends were longer. Oh well. We got a bit accomplished today. Jon mowed the lawn this morning. I'm glad he did it this morning, b/c it was way too hot out this afternoon. I vacuumed and put a far too large amount of clothes away. How do I let those piles get so big? And I do laundry every weekend!!!! I also went through my sock and underwear draws and weeded them out. It needed it badly! Then we went and got Super Mario Galaxy 2 and will now be enjoying that in the nice cool air conditioning of our home. It's hot and humid in good old southern IN today. Welcome to summer! We got slushies and shakes from SONIC in our quest to enjoy the hotness. There is nothing like a slushy on a hot day! Sorry for the short post. Here are some pretties to inspire you. Does anyone else love pretty pictures like I do? Love them!

Product Review

i decided to try L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Compact Makeup as a possible makeup for the wedding. I've got to say, I really didn't like this product. I tried it several times, several different ways (straight on the skin, over moisturized skin, with a base) and it never satisfied me. It didn't blend into my skin well, felt heavy on my face, and didn't give me the coverage I wanted. A definite hands down.

Dream Kitchen

So my kitchen right now is lacking in the space dept. There are a lot things I don't like about it. The first being the heinous 1/2 wall of blue plaid wallpaper! Blech. I can't wait to (someday in the very distant future) turn it into my dream kitchen. I would move the sink to the outside wall and put a window above it. I would have white cabinets and a dishwasher (No we do not have one of these. It's all by hand at our house!). And this picture has a few things I would want.

{image via http://www.designspongeonline.com/ }

Ok 2 things about this kitchen that I LOVE! I want a chalkboard wall in my kitchen. Seeing as we have all of 2 walls in our kitchen, I'm not sure how to pull that off, but I am somewhat determined to do this nonetheless. Number 2, I love that open shelving! I'm not sure I'd want a complete open shelving kitchen, but I love having just a bit like this picture depicts. Sigh. Someday I'll get to work on my kitchen. Not anytime soon, but someday! How perfect is this kitchen?

Creamy Chicken

This morning, we went David's for breakfast. He and Kate made us french toast and sausage! Yea! We stayed there for a bit and just chatted. Goodtimes, goodtimes indeed.
We got Josh's shoes for the wedding today and picked him up a couple pairs of shorts for this summer. They didn't have them in Jon's size, so he's going to get them at a later date. Now they just have to get their suits!
We watched Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs today and it was hilarious!!! Highly recommended! It was hysterical! We rented it, but I'm very much wanting to get it on dvd to own!
This afternoon, we laid a couple of blankets in the yard and enjoyed the beautiful weather. I read some Harry Potter and the guys played Stratego and Othello. I played my first game of Othello today. I lost. :( Oh well, plenty of time to win! It was just too nice outside not to go out and enjoy it. It was around 80 degrees and there was a light breeze. Under the shade of all our trees it was lovely. I'm so glad we have so many full grown trees at our house. More raking in the fall yes, but that just means we can jump in gigantic piles of leaves!
Tonight, we will chill out and maybe watch Adventures in Babysitting. The guys loved my recipe, so here it is.

Sarah's Creamy Chicken

3 chicken breasts
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 block cream cheese
noodles
garlic salt, to taste
peas, to taste
mushrooms, chopped, to taste
onions, chopped, to taste

I started the chicken breasts, soups, garlic salt, and chicken broth in the crockpot on low. Cook for 6 hours. Add mushrooms and onions and cook another 2 hours. Add the peas and cream cheese and cook 20-30 minutes. Serve over noodles.

chucks and saturday love

Ah Saturday mornings! I love Saturday's! I sleep in till 8 (geez, when did sleeping in become 8am?) and then I get up. Usually the boys sleep for a while longer, so I get some Sarah time. This morning I am trying a new recipe in the crockpot. I'll post the recipe later. I'm watching some some Buffy (the Vampire Slayer for those who don't know) and chilling out on mah couch.
Today, we are going to get Jon and Josh their chucks for the wedding. Hopefully the JC Penny down here has their sizes. I'm thinking about getting a pair too. That would be so cute in pictures! A family of chucks! Maybe that's what I'll wear down the aisle! hehe. so that would bring me to 3 pairs of shoes for the wedding. Maybe overkill? I would have chucks for walking down the aisle and the ceremony. I would wear both chucks and my new red heels for pictures. and then I'm changing into my bride flip flops for the reception. I'm a total shoe diva!
Well, I'm sure you've given two craps about my boring little life today, so I'm goign to stop typing about it and go out and live it! Toodles!

chickpea's and meatballs

Zoey update! She is 100% tumor free! Best news ever! So happy for her, and of course Dustin and Amber.
Ah the weekend. So far this Friday night, I have made (and eaten) shepard's pie, baked chickpeas (not my thing, but I had been wanting to try them for a while now), and am currently baking a cake! I'm feeling a little Betty Crocker I guess. If you are wanting to try the baked chickpeas, there are recipes all over the internet. Just pick one that looks good to you. A hint though, shake those puppies often during baking, or they WILL burn!
We are going to watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs tonight. None of us has seen it, so see it we will! It has been raining here since we picked up Josh, so a night inside it is!
Total side note, but Alice in Wonderland (Disney/Tim Burton version) is out on dvd on June 1st!!!! I can't wait!!!!!
I have a PSA regarding cheese grater heels. We all get them. My heels get super dry and cracked regardless of the season. I was turned onto this trick by my dad. It sounds a little wierd, but if you use anitfungal cream on your heels, they will get soft again! Put on a generous amount of the cream, then slip on socks for at least a few hours. My dad does it at the beginning of the day and his feet are soft as a baby's butt! Just letting everyone know in case they may find this little tidbit useful.
In other news, is anyone else tired of hearing how they keep failing at stopping that huge oil leak? Stop messing around and stop it already! I just get the feeling (and I could be wrong, just my feeling folks) that they are too concerned with saving as much oil as they can than they are with just stopping the leak. Just stop the damn leak people! You should be more concerned with the fact that you are killing nature than the fact that you are losing money. Freaking oil people. Don't get me started. Ugh.
Anywho, in house decor news, I really want to make one of these paintings for our living room.

{image from http://underagedandengaged.blogspot.com/ }
Ours would be on a smaller scale, but I love this concept! I love decorating our home. I love that it reflects our style and really shows who we are. and of course, I just love decorating!!! I'm also working on a plate wall (possibly, Jon isn't fond of the idea). I've collected a few plates, and I grabbed a Liberty of London platter when they were at Target that I'd like to use for the center. Jon's actually given me the ok on the project, but he really doesn't like the sound of it, so I'm debating on it. I think he'll like it once he see's it, but I don't want to put it all up only to find that he really hates it. Hmm...

Super Excitment

Have I mentioned that I like That 70's Show? Cause I do. I like it a lot. But mostly the earlier seasons. Just saying. Also I love cuddling with my cats. That is all for today. I know, you can barely stand the excitement that causes you. Try my little internet friends, try.

hump day dilly dallies

Oh la-di-da, I seem to be in a good mood today, even though my tum-tum's been a mite upset. I went to Olive Garden last night with my mom, kelly, and rachel, and I'm afraid it didn't sit too well today. Oh well! I did accomplish two things last night! After dinner, we went to JC Penney and I picked up my flower girl dresses and....my wedding shoes!!!!! Woop! I found the perfect pair! Ok, so they are like 4 inch heels, but they are perfect for pictures! I know I know, I bought a pair of shoes just to wear for pictures?! Well, they were only $20 AND I can wear them with a dorothy costume for halloween one year! So there! Oh but they are so cute and they'll be lovely in pictures! sparkly red with adorable satin bows diagonal across the toes. I wish I could post a picture. Maybe this weekend, I'll get Jon to load them onto his computer and I can upload them from there. This is the flower girl dress I picked out. Hopefully it will fit both of my flower girls!

{image from jc penney.com}
Anywho, I am getting ready to start a new scrapbook. It's going to be full sized, but I'm making it out of a box. Don't worry, I'll post pics to explain. It's going to be Us-ology themed. Just pics of Jon and I. Loveology if you will. I'm rather excited. I really should catch up on other scrapping too. I have been seriously lax in that dept lately. However, I have been busy with wedding yunk as of late, so I'll use that as an excuse. And now here are some pretty pictures to leave you with.

a whole lotta shtuff!

First and foremost, a Zoey update! All the prayers/good vibes/thoughts are working! Zoey is doing good after yesterdays surgery and is sitting up in bed already! Hopefully her MRI today shows the tumor is all gone! Keep up the good thinking people!

PSA! Target has my favorite basics (long tank tops to go under stuff and v neck t-shirts) on sale for $6! I stocked up (yes, I am sometimes very basic in my wardrobe) and now you should too!

http://mrspriss.com/ I freaking love this site! So many cute DIY projects AND she’s hilarious! A total must read!

So a cat story from last night is what you’d like to read? Ok, I’ll give you that! My boys (cats) love catnip, but only in the form of those refillable fabric tubes (check in the cat aisle at wallyworld, you’ll see them). So every once in a blue moon, I get them some new ones, b/c I’m to lazy to just buy catnip and refill the ones they all ready have. Last night, I decided they needed some newbs since they had just suffered a 4 day weekend without their mama. So I open the package and dump the tubes on the ground. Topeka just sniffs them then walks away. Jersey kind of sniffs them for a while then looks bored. I’m thinking ok so they don’t like their nips anymore. Fast forward a few hours. I had just decided to settle in with some Golden Girls and my boys. Lo and behold, they decide they feel…er, interesting (no doubt due to the catnip) and start freaking out! They streak across my room, Topeka attempts to jump onto the window ledge, but instead ends up bouncing off said window and Jersey completely wipes out into my pile of wedding stuff. One would think they had enough, no? No. They continue to run frantically throughout the house for a good 10 minutes until they finally settle themselves down, under my covers, with aforementioned catnip toys. Ok, so maybe you had to be there, but I was laughing quite a lot.

So after my 2 days of sickness exile, I noticed that my kidney area was a bit sensitive. So I have been chugging water hoping to avoid the dreaded kidney infection! Anyone out there know why my kidneys would hurt after a sick episode? (TMI, the sickness was not vomit). They feel ok today, but I’m gonna be sticking to water for a while…with some tea thrown in there for good measure.

Finally, from the wedding front, I officially ordered our cake! Now I’m down to the boring stuff like deciding on cake plates and tablecloths. Oh well, you have to have cake plates!

oh and since i missed this on friday...

fill in the blank!

1. The very best thing about the summer is Being able to be outside and do all sorts of fun things like hiking, swimming, BBQing, and stuff .

2. My first crush ever was a boy named Todd. He was the only boy in my 1st grade class that was taller than me.

3. This may sound really silly but I have a small obsession with my cats ears. They are just too cute! They are bigger than a normal cats ears. I just like to play with them. I love my cats way too much. But I’m not a crazy cat lady! I swear!

4. I squeeze my toothpaste from the middle until it gets low. Then I squeeze from the end .

5. My absolute favorite "comfort food" is anything sweet. Cake, ding dongs, donuts, I don’t care I’d take it all! Oh and mashed potatoes.

6. A random fact about me is that I drove a 1977 orange Ford pickup trhough highschool. It had a pink door. It was known as the bomb b/c I fully expected it to blow up. It never did.

7. The one piece of technology that truly makes my life better and I couldn't live without is my cell phone. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to talk to jon every night. Eek!

Sound track to my life...thus far...kind of

The Little Mermaid soundtrack – I still sing the songs from that bad boy!
The Grease Soundtrack – I used to roller skate around my garage to this for hours! I’d just skate and sing! Love it!
“Can you feel the love tonight” – Elton john from the lion king soundtrack. I was supposed to get my first kiss to this song,
but the dj at the party played the circle of life instead. Oops!
“I’ll Make Love to You” – Boys II Men – so many slow dances to this. Sigh. To be 12 again.
“Mmmbop” – Hanson. Oh just try and tell me you didn’t love it!
“…Baby one more time” By miss Britney spears. Oh the nineties, how I loved thee!
“All the Small Things” - Blink- 182 – I had a crush on a guy who liked Blink. Lo and behold, I still love their music!
“Pretty Fly for a White Guy” - The Offspring – I totally cleaned my room to this song. Just gave me energy I guess.
“Ironic” – Alanis Morissette – oh I was an angsty teen!
“Building a Mystery” – Sarah McLachlan – Oh I’d take anything by her! Further proof of my angstyness.
“Stolen” – Dashboard Confessionals – ah yes, the summer with Jon
“Breathe” – Sia – Jon and I got back together to this song
“I’d Have You Anytime” - George Harrison – Our first dance at the wedding!

Hmm this is harder than I thought. I keep thinking of really good songs, but are they actually in my life’s soundtrack, or just songs I really really like? I mean, I can't leave out Guns n Roses, or my 80's hair bands, or Mariah Carey, or Garth Brooks, or Eminem, or Green Day, or...oh you get the point! All kinds of songs by all kinds of artists have been in my life soundtrack! How do you decide? What makes a song on your life soundtrack? Good question! Anywho, I decided to stick with the above and the remember to download all the awesome songs I had forgotten about.

So Hello There!

Oh I hate being sick! But (hopefully) the nasty has passed and I am back! A few things from this weekend. Amber and Dustin came over Saturday night for one last to-do before Zoey’s surgery. It’s happening now so prayers/good vibes/upbeat thoughts sent their way would be appreciated! I, of course, was a bit sick, but it was still a good time. We watched Blown Away (an older movie) and I loved it! Then again, when don’t I love Jeff Bridges? Love him!
Sunday was Jon’s grandpop’s birthday, so we went to his dad’s for a little cookout. We were invited to come over next weekend for fresh strawberry’s and strawberry daquiri’s! I love strawberrys. Yum. And blackberries. Yum squared.
Anywho, Jon and I also watched the new Sherlock Holmes movie. It was ok. I thought they made ol’ Sherlock a bit of a douchebag, but that’s just my opinion. I did like the character by the end of the movie, so maybe I’m just off. Who knows! We also watched Crocodile Dundee. I love that movie! Nothing like a classic from the childhood! Why all the movies one might ask? Well aside from my being unable to really leave the house and the fact that it rained, we recently signed up for an acct at our local Family Video and for the first 30 days, everything we rent we get ½ off. So be assured we will take advantage of that!!! So what movies would you rent? Old or new?
On my 4 day weekend, the one thing I did manage to get done was planting some flowers and 2 tomato plants. At least I got one check out of the way! Plus, Jon commented how now it looks like we care about our house, hehe. Oh, and I also staked my peonies b/c the poor buggers were lying flat on the ground. They are beautiful by the way! Just gorgeous. I cut some and looked at them in a vase all weekend. Peony hint, don’t forget to shake the ants out! I learned this before bringing mine inside, so we had no ant problem, I just wanted to put it out there!
And now, some answers for questions that I saw on the ever adorable http://chelseybellblahg.blogspot.com/ It’s not really a quiz, just liked the idea of answering these.

1. Where wil you be five years from today? – hopefully, married, living at home full time, with a baby! And a dog!
2. What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail? – open my own store! I have seriously thought about how awesome this would be! It would be a craft/scrapbook/candle/recipe store. Not to broad eh?
3. If you could open a door to anywhere, where would you go? Neverland silly! Or Wonderland. Hmmmm…..decisions.
4. What are you afraid of? A plethora of things! Spiders, clowns (I’m slowly overcoming this one), china dolls, change, etc.
5. I believe in ghosts. Do you? – Yesiree!
6. 5 bears stood right in the middle of the street blocking your way, what would you do? I would totally play dead and hope they went away!
7. What would the theme song to your life be? Oh I can’t answer that! I have way too many songs! Hmmm… I suppose if I had to choose, I would pick….Bitch by Meredith Brooks. I think it describes how complex a person is and how that complexity is what makes them who they are. It’s what makes them human. And you should want to be anything other than what you are. Oh I should do a soundtrack of my life…thus far post! I see one coming people!

Now go live! Life only comes around once! Well, unless you believe in reincarnation, but regardless, go live! Go!

“In 20 years, you will be more disappointed by what you didn’t do than by what you did.” – Mark Twain

Blech.

Ugh. I have been stomach sick for the past 2 days. It is really not fun. I just don't feel good. It figures that I would be sick during my 4 day weekend. How is that fair?!?! We got nothing done yesterday. I was sick all morning and then didn't feel very good the rest of the day. This morning I was sick again and just feel blechy. Yep, I had a great mini vacation! Stinking sickness. Can you tell I am bitter?! So yeah. Oh well.

Sick. That is all.

Friday

Day 2 of my 4 day weekend is almost over. It is going way too fast!!!!! I did a crap load of laundry today! I also dusted the house, picked up the living room, finished my kids color books for the wedding, put away a crap load of laundry, and baked cookies. Doesn't look like a lot when I typed it out, but it took me all day! We are chillin' like villain's at home. We rented Defendor and Sherlock Holmes. Defendor is less of a comedy than I thought it was going to be, but I really liked it. Bring the kleenex though, because you are going to need it! Really good movie though!

An Ode to Vitamin C

Forgive my slacker posting this week. Tuesday and Wednesday I felt like poo. I have a cold my friends. Combined that with my allergies, and I have been quite a mess. I actually let work early yesterday b/c I just felt like a big pile o' poo! I have the kind of cold where my throat hurts and is scratchy, therefore my voice is...weird. I have constant drainage, that goes strait down my throat. Oh, and my glands are swollen beyond belief! My neck is huge! Not to complain or anything;) However, after an copious amounts of vitamin c being ingested into my system, I am feeling much better today. There really is nothing better than vitamin c for a cold. Love it!

I am off work today and tomorrow, woot for 4 day weekends! Even though I have a cold for my vaca, it's still vaca. Today, Jon went into work and I went to Walmart for groceries, an oil change, and some tire patches. Jon had his court date, so he left work early. We spent the afternoon mowing the lawn and planting flowers and tomatoes to release stress (er, or something). Then we had his court date, which went well I think. We are going to veg out the rest of the evening and I am going to ingest for vitamin c. Woop!
Tomorrow, my schedule includes a ton of laundry, wedding invites, and cleaning the house. I plan on designing the wedding invites, then figuring out how to print them. Shouldn't be too hard...right? Right?!?!?! Oy. Invitations scare me. Jon will be at work, so I will watch some Buffy and Charmed. He doesn't groove on those shows, so I will watch them all by my lonesome.
Oh! I FINALLY saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! I was disappointed by Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (the movie, not the book!) so I put off seeing the Half Blood Prince. But I loved it! They definitely stray from the book (of course), but I really enjoyed it! Now I am looking forward to the next, and last (tear) two.

I did accomplish a wedding to do this week! I booked hotel rooms for Jon and I and for Dustin and Amber. Check!
Speak of Dustin and Amber, 2 things. First...Happy Birthday Amber! Secondly, Zoey's surgery is Monday, so lets get some serious prayers/positive vibes/good thoughts rolling their way!

Later Tators! (yup, that's how I roll)

today.

Today I…

…have 4 packs of gum in my purse (Juicy Fruit, Doublemint, Extra Spearmint, Stride Mystery Flavor)
…can’t stop biting my check where it is swollen b/c I bit it yesterday (darn juicy fruit)
…hate work even more than normal
…can’t wait until tomorrow night (4 days off! Woot!)
…really wish I had a Diet Coke
…wish I was sleeping
…can't wait to go to bed. stinking allergies.

Happy Mother's Day! and a recipe

Happy mother's day to all the mothers out there! I myself will be meeting my mom for lunch today. I may or may not (ok, so definitely may) have some serious baby fever and I can't wait to celebrate my first mothers day. No worries though, Jon and I aren't starting a family any time soon. We still have a ways to go before we do that! We are planning on starting to try about1 1/2 years after the wedding. Interestingly enough, Jon was talking baby yesterday! Strange but true! I think he just wanted to get my mind off of the puppies that were at the forestry yesterday. They were up for adoption and I wanted one so badly! I could just smoosh their little faces, yes I could! ( you must do that sentence in a mushy baby voice to get the full effect) I tried a new meatloaf today! I got a recipe from my sister, who got it from Kraft! I made a few changes based on what we had at the house. I'll post a Jon review once he's tried it. I made it up ahead of time so that he and Josh can have it for lunch. Here is the recipe. I have put my changes in (). However, my sister has made this exactly as the recipe indicates and they love it at her house!

Italian Meatloaf

2 lbs ground beef
1 pkg stove top stuffing mix for chicken
1 can (19 fl oz) italian-style stewed tomoatoes, undrained (I didn't use these, as we didn't have them)
4 cloves garilc, minced (I used dried garlic and some garlic salt)
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups pasta sauce, divided ( I used 2 cups in the meatloaf and then the 1/4 cup on top)
1 cup mozzerlla cheese, divided

Preheat oven to 375. Mix all ingredients except 1/4 cup each of the pasta sauce and cheese. Put in a 13x9 inch backing dish, sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 50 minutes. top with remaining sauce and cheese. bake an additional 10 minutes or until loaf is cooked through.

Eagles and Graduations

To start off, here's a little pretty inspiration for you!

{image from we heart it}
This morning we went to the forestry and saw a presentation on birds of prey. We got to see a live red tail hawk, red chested hawk, and a bald eagle! The lady who held them said that the bald eagle only ways 9 lbs! Crazy! They are lighter than they appear! I mean, I knew birds had hollow bones so they were light, but man that isn't a whole lot for a bird with 5-6 foot wingspan! I'm so frustrated b/c my camera took really dark crappy pictures! Why is all of my technology failing me?!?! First my computer now my camera?! Grrrr...stinkin' technology. They had puppies for adoption at the forestry too. I want one so bad! Jon doesn't want to take care of it while I'm gone during the week, so I guess we won't have one anytime soon. They were really cute too! Aw, now I'm sad again!
After we left the forestry, we had lunch at the Pizza Palace (Pizza King for all you up north) and played some of their games. We chilled at home for a bit, then Josh went to Uncle David's and Jon and I headed up to Dan and Rachel's for Dan's surprise graduation party. Congrats Dan! We hung out there for a bit then headed back to Seymour. On the way into town, we stopped for some White Castle. Not to give TMI, but I have been....stuck for a bit on the digestive front, and I didn't feel like taking Ex-lax. Hopefully, White Castle will do the trick.
I think we have taken the road of Chuck Taylors for the guys at the wedding. Woop! Great chance for some photo ops like this.

Well, we are going to settle in for the night. Have a good one!

Our Wedding Website

Here is our wedding website! Keep in mind that it is a work in progress! I'll be updating it constantly!

http://sarahandjonaregettinghitched.weebly.com/

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Happy Cinco de Mayo! According to Wikipedia, “Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a voluntarily observed holiday that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza SeguĂn.” Have some salsa and margaritas!
Sorry I have been MIA the past couple of days! I have been working on a wedding website and I finished my ring bearer pillows! I have been productive, just not blogging wise! I will post my wedding website later. It still isn’t quite done yet. I have really been knocking out wedding stuff the past couple of weeks, and I must say I’m pretty proud of my self. Not to toot my own horn or anything ;). I ordered a short sleeve zippy hoodie today and a white t-shirt. I am going to pick up some white undies after work. I am going to decorate those with bride, I do, and Tying the Knot rhinestones. After work, I am heading to Hobby Lobby to get some supplies for a sarah version of a haute bracelet and a garter. I am going to have to find a way to get pictures on my computer! Maybe I’ll hijack Jon’s next week.
I took a 4 day weekend next week. Jon has court to discuss Josh stuff on Thursday, and I wanted to be there for that. I decided it would be the perfect time also to tackle invites (design them, learn how to print them, etc) and a few other projects for the wedding, so I took Friday off as well.
I have fallen in love with a look for the guys at the wedding but I’m not sure how to pull it off. I want them to wear black pants, white shirts, black vests and red ties! I love the look without a jacket, but I’m not sure how to pull that off. Also, Jon has free reign over the guys attire, so I suppose I should mention this to him! I just like the way it looks nice but stays casual as well.

I have a serious request to make today. Please keep our friends Dustin and Amber, and their little girl Zoey in your thoughts/prayers/positive vibes. A little back-story is in order. I have mentioned friends of ours and their baby who has needed prayers since the beginning of this year, but have never really explained the situation. Zoey has a brain tumor that was discovered in Jan. They were able to remove most of it and also found out that it isn’t cancerous. Yea! However, Zoey goes in for another brain surgery on May 17th to try to get the rest of the tumor and to see how it is doing (shrinking/growing/etc). Please keep them in your thoughts/prayers/positive vibes for the month or longer. They desperately need it!

Today I will laugh and love

Saw the most awesome thing today

It is a condom that says "Luke I will not be your father"
Hehe, no love without a glove people! Jon found the image at furiousfanboys.com. Definitely made me laugh after the, er...issue earlier (see post below). Oy.

I finished my April scrap-journal. Actually, I still need to add pictures into it, so I'm not completely done yet. I like that I can say I have officially document a month of my life. I wrote something every day. My next project can't be explained very well. It is a scrap-journal, but I'm not putting a time limit on it. I will have to post pictures once I get it started. My other project is an adventure box. I have made the box. It reads Our Adventure 2010. I got the idea from the movie "UP". I have seen other people do adventure albums and I liked the idea. I decided to do a box for our summer of 2010. It will have an 8x8 scrapbook in it and it will also house all the extra memory stuff like napkins, ticket stubs, event programs, etc. I'm really excited about this one!
I found a new idea for he wedding. I really like this sing I found on we heart it

I think it would be really cute to hang at the reception.
On a fashion note, I am really excited that maxi dresses are still in this season. I lived in mine last summer! I hope they stick around for a while b/c I really love them! Comfort and fashion in one item?! Sign me up! I was putting my summer clothes into my closet and found my maxi dresses from last year. I'm wearing one now actually! Long live the maxi dress!
Oh how I love Bob Ross. We watched an episode (or two) on google video's while we ate lunch. Then we went to a book sale at the library. They were pretty much cleaned out though. Now we are just hanging out at home til I have to leave. This weekend went way too quickly! It has been raining all weekend here. Gloom, gloom, gloom! I'm ready for some sunshine on a weekend! It can rain all week, just give me good weather on the weekends!

"Weekends are a bit like rainbows; they look good from a distance but disappear when you get up close to them." - John Shirley

"There is little chance that meteorologists can solve the mysteries of weather until they gain an understanding of the mutual attraction of rain and weekends." - Arnot Sheppard

Mr. Rogers was a saint

On a completely different note, I am irate. Fox news has done many idiotic things...a huge amount of idiotic things, but this one has sent me over the edge. They have called Mr. Rogers evil. They stated that he is evil and taught children to be self entitled. At what point did Mr. Rogers ever do anything other than tell kids that learning is important and that everybody has their own type of talent?!?!?!? Self entitled?!?!!? I didn't know that encouraging kids to be the best people they could be and be good people?!?!?!? I grew up on Mr. Rogers and what I learned from him is that I should always try my best and that I should recognize the others around me that help me to be who I am. That's a bit on the other side of the spectrum from self entitlement. In fact, to prove my point about the fact that Mr Rogers was more about recognizing that no one can make it on their own without help from others, here is a little tidbit that Fox news could have gotten off of Wikipedia. When Mr. Rogers was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Emmys, he wouldn't even take credit for it! He made everyone take 10 seconds to think about the other people around them that got them to where they were! Did Fox trouble themselves to check up on facts about the man they were about to belittle and call an evil person? No. They are idiots who can't be bothered to check facts about something, but just choose to say what's on their mind without first seeing if there is a basis of fact about it! They cite experts, but they never do say who these supposed experts are!!! They are uneducated bigots spouting off uneducated opinions. They are in now way journalists. I believe the people at FOX news are more entitled than the children that grew up watching Mr. Rogers!!!!! I would love to be a fly on the wall to see what these people tell their children about being special. Do they tell their kids they don't deserve anything and are in no way special?!?!? Or are they telling their children they are wonderful kids who should work hard to be the best people they can be? The thing they don't want to say is that the parents are to blame! There are so many parents out there who make excuses for their children and say that they aren't at fault for the things they do. In fact, during the broadcast, a woman wrote in to make that exact point, and Fox news, instead of address the comment, moved right past it to a letter that agreed with them. Instead of blaming Mr Rogers, who dedicated his life to children, perhaps we should look closer to home and recognize that parents need to be parenting, not tv shows. I normally do not comment on things like this, but they have crossed a line by attacking an innocent man who is no longer around to defend himself. A man who was revered for being a simple, humble, good human being. More than anyone, ANYONE, at the Fox network can say about themselves.

Weekend of Memories

Last night we went to see the original Nightmare on Elm St (1984 version) at the drive in. I loved seeing it on the big screen! The new one that's out played after that and it was awful! Don't waste your money! Anyway, David, Kate, Amber, Dustin, and Zach went with us. It was Kate, Amber, and Dustin's first time there. It was really cool though, b/c they had Freddy driving a really old school bus with the original theme music playing from it. You could ride on the bus with Freddy! Then they had a Freddy with real metal fingers walk around during the movie. Right before the movie started, they "sharpened" his knives. It was really cool, sparks were flying from them! All in all, a fantastic evening!
Today, I bought my wedding dress! It isn't at all what I thought I wanted and it was the 1st one I tried on. Actually, I think I may have set the record for fastest wedding dress buy! I was in, tried on 5 dresses, and out all within 30 minutes! My family couldn't believe it! I am working on being able to upload pictures so that I can post some on here! I bought the dress off the rack, so I was able to take it home with me today! They will clean it for free before the wedding. It fits absolutely perfectly, so I don't need any alterations! I am seriously in a bit of shock. I didn't even know that could happen! I thought for sure I was going to have to order my dress and wait for it. Not to mention I thought I'd have to have alterations done. As it is, I could go get married tomorrow! Since I don't have pictures right now, I'll just tell you what the dress is like. It is chiffon A-line dress with an empire waste. The bust is rouched, and at the waist, there is some lace and beading, but just a bit. It flows down into a chapel train, and there is a bit more lace and beading that flows down the back of the dress from the waist to the hem. I got it in ivory. I am going to have to get new shoes though. The ones I got just don't go with the dress. I think I want to get a red kitten heel, but I suspect I am going to have trouble finding something that will be what I want. I'm on the lookout! I like these,

but the heel is too high. I can't go higher than a 1-2 inch heel, or I'll be taller than Jon. I know it's not a huge deal, but I want to be shorter than him!
I also have to rethink my hair. I don't think I want to wear a veil with this dress. I tried one on with it and it just didn't do it for me. I'm thinking I will just do a facinator. Which brings me to the next question of how I want to do my hair. With this dress, I may want to do a 1/2 up do. i just don't know. So many decisions! Oh the humanity! Hehe.
After I bought my dress, we ran to Michael's and I got my votive candles. Then we went to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory! I love that place! I got Jon and I some cheesecake to go. I headed home shortly after that. When I got home, I took a 2 hour nap! I was bushed! Then we had dinner at Sonnie and Phil's. Now we are home and eating our cheesecake! Yum! So good! Well, I'll head out for now. Have a great rest of your weekend!
