Our weekend via my ipod...and one canon picture

Lots of movies (Star Trek 4 & 6, Dark Crystal, The Jetsons movie), pain meds, gauze, cuddling, and writing on notepads so that I knew what the heck the hubs needed.

Then I got feeling creative and made these.

Summer To Do List

1. Go to MI!

Agenda will include: staying at a hotel with a pool (per Josh's request, lol), visiting either the children's museum or the zoo

Popping in

Just popping in to document today. This morning Jon had all his teeth pulled. Long story short, he's always had terrible teeth (no enamel) and they were basically unfixable, so out they came! He's getting dentures, but for now he's on soft foods and liquids! His surgery was at 8:30am and he was out at 10:30am. We were home with some painkillers by 11am. So far so good! He's up and about after a day of sleep and thanks to those aforementioned painkillers, feeling pretty good! That's it for now!

Fashion Haul

Sad story. Jon did laundry and shrunk my favorite pair of work pants. The store doesn't have them anymore, so I couldn't order new ones. I was very sad. I decided to order a new pair of pants to replace the new ones. I realized recently that I have zero spring/summer shirts that are work appropriate at my new job. I therefore decided to order a couple tops that could be dressed up or down and therefore would work for...well work, and then after work! I also found an adorable dress that I couldn't pass up. Really, I thought about it for a full day before I ordered it! Here is what I got! I hope they all live up to my expectations and don't have to be returned!

I am exhausted. I woke up more tired this morning than I was when I went to bed last night. harupm. Anywho, I got home from work and was greeted by a rt 44 diet coke add cherry. my husband knows me so well! totally made my day. my lil bro-in-law is over for the evening, and we ordered Chinese in. Yea! Through it all, I forgot to take any pictures. FAIL! Well at least I blogged about it! :)

In other news, I spent my day off (thank you presidents day) with my mom, sister, niece and nephews in Indy! It was a fun day despite the constant rain and cold temps! I love my family so much! I wish I got to see them more, but I've learned that absence really does make the heart grow fonder! I got home last night and was just bushed, so Jon and I had a quiet night in just chilling. Today was back to work and then the above described evening. Add in some laundry and you pretty much have my life! Well I'm off to hopefully get a decent sleep...er in about 2 hours.

Sephora Haul

I got my stuff from Sephora! I ordered Boi-ing concealer, an Eye Bright pencil, and a travel size High Beam, all by Benefit. I have been searching for a good concealer and Boi-ing has gotten rave reviews, so I decided to go for it. Since I was ordering anyway, I decided to try out the Eye Bright and High Beam since so many people like them. They had a travel size High Beam, so I decided to start with that since I haven't used it before. Expect a rave review of the Boi-ing concealer coming soon. I've only used it once but oh my gawd! If it keeps up it's performance from today, I will never use another concealer again! I also got some nail files that were on clearance to meet the dollar amount to get free shipping. They're pretty cute! So that's my very first Sephora haul!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everybody! Jon and I don't celebrate this holiday, but have fun out there if you do! Today was just like any other. Work and then home to my hubby! We've just been chilling on the couch with the cat. I'm brewing some more iced tea and we're watching some DragonballZ. I'm totally loving my iPod by the by! I've downloaded a few more apps and I pretty much use it as my camera now if don't feel like toting around my Canon. Here are my favorite apps.

Sunday

I had such a great day! I went up to Indy and spent the day with my sisters, nieces, and nephews! We took some maternity pic's and visited Target and generally hung out. I miss my family! Since I'm off next Monday (thank you bank holidays!) I'm going up again then. Yea! Anywho, I got home around 5:30ish to a home full of husband, son, and brothers! David, Kate, Jon, Josh and I went and had dinner at BW3's with our Valentine's gift cards (thanks Sonnie!). Now we are home and just chilling until bedtime!

1. The TV show/website that I watch/read that I would be embarrassed to tell anyone about is: people.com. I'm totally a closet celebrity whore *insert ashamed face*

2. An item of clothing that is worn and torn but that I love far to much to throw away is: my 6th grade play t-shirt. I will never get rid of that thing!

3. My grocery store impulse buy is: usually fancy cheese. mmm...cheese.

4. Something I do at work to pass time that I wouldn't want my co-workers to know about is: make lists. Grocery, wish lists, to do lists. I just write lots of lists.

5. One thing in my life that I could give up, but never will is: facebook. I'm hooked on knowing what other people are doing.

6. A little indulgence that I have is: pickles. I can literally eat a jar a day!

7. The junk drawer/area in my house is: the coffee table. it's awful! we really should work on it! *oh who am i kidding, she thinks to herself. the coffee table, entrance table, and dressers in the bedroom are ALL clutter catchers.

Fun Date Ideas

Jon and I have decided that this year, we are going to live a lot. It will be our first year of marriage and we want to make the most of our alone time before we have kids. I have started making a list of stuff I want to do this year. Here is what I have so far.

Dear Cold

Dear Cold,

Perhaps I haven't made it clear how I feel about you, b/c you just won't leave me alone. I don't like you. I hate not being able to sleep b/c my nose is simultaneously stuffed up and running. I hate that once I do fall asleep, you wake me up by making me cough. I hate that my choices are feeling like crap with a completely stuffed up head, or having medicine head from cold medicine. I hate that my glands are so swollen that my neck feels like I stuffed it with cotton. Oh and let's not get me started on my enlarged tonsils. So cold, please leave me alone. I really really don't like you.

Sick

I am sick. Had a great weekend hanging out with Dustin and Amber, then....sick. fever, stuffed head, hugley swollen glands. so not fun.

i just sat here for 5 minutes trying to think of a title

Well after a VERY disappointing morning, I took a 3/5+ hour nap! Did you know that a nap that long can cure any ail? Well it can! Now I'm bored though. Hm... I'm surfing the web and I really love this idea from Skunkboy Creatures!

I know they use it for a nursery, but I think it could look cute above the entry to my kitchen. Time to hit up the antique mall for pretty hankies!

harumph, grumble, grumble

Today I was supposed to go take maternity pictures of my sis and see the kids. Guess what I'm not doing today! I think it was the moment I saw an SUV do 3 360's that I decided it wasn't exactly safe to travel on the interstate. I'm so very over winter. I just want sunshine and nice driving conditions! Is that too much to ask mother nature?!

At least I get the priveledge of spending the day indoors with the hubs. I do love him so!

hello friday my old friend

you know what's frustrating? my I button isn't typing all the time. so if i miss some i's, blame my keyboard, not my typing. ;)

you know what's awesome?! Sangria...yum!

you know what's fun? cupcakes, again...yum!

you know what's creative? makng taco salad out of your cupboard! (aka, black beans+hamburger+random spices+can of rotel=taco meat mix)

you know what's simply spiffing? I'm going to Target tomorrow *shivers in anticipation*

you know what's even more spiffing?! I get to see my niece and nephews and sister tomorrow! That get's a big WOOP!

baby's and such

It amazes me how music can change the pace of your heart. Your heart beat quickens and slows with the pace of a truly amazing song. Case in point, the main theme of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. *shivers* So good.

Anyway, guess what?!?!?! The sun came out today!!!! It was so nice to get a peek of that magical golden orb. Lovely. I can't wait till he becomes a regular visitor! I started looking around or some newborn photo props today and got a few really good ideas. Saturday I'm going to take maternity pic's of my sister, then I'm takng newborn pic's of the baby once it's here. I'm so excited! I love this baby egg from babydazeboutique on etsy!

That's at lollypopsboutique on etsy. It's good to know that I can buy one if making it doesn't turn out! I've also seen some really cute pictures using guitar cases, big decorative plates, shelves, and some other stuff. Anywho, first I've got to take the belly pic's! I've got a few cute ideas, but I think I'm going to fly by the seat of my pants on this one. See where the day takes us. I get to include my niece and nephews in some of the pic's, so that should be fun!

Tonight is calling for The Abyss, special edition! Woot! I also made some sangria using a bottle of Oliver's Sangria wine, a bottle of Trueblood Blood Orange drink, some sugar, and 3 types of pears. Can you tell I just used what we had lying around?! We'll see how good it is! ;)

Corn Chowder

adapted from Best of Taste of Home Volume 2 cookbook

2 cups water
1 pkg chicken ramen noodles
1 can corn
1 can cream corn
1 cup milk
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp parsley
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 bratwurst, boiled until done, then sliced


Bring water to a boil. Break noodles into pieces and add them, the seasoning packet, and onion to water. cook 2-3 minutes, or until noodles are done. Add corn, cream corn, milk, spices, and brats. Heat through. Add cheese and heat until blended.

Sure Puxatony Phil is kinda cute...

...kinda. But I don't think he knows jack about the weather! Not much has been going on around here. Crap weather, but at least we didn't get snow and ice like the rest of the state! Of course, that may have meant a day off work... Anywho, we've just been bunkering down to stay out of the cold. Brrrrr.... I've been doing some online window shopping to pass the time. Here are some things that are calling my name!

Ah if only. Oh well! What I'm really dreaming of is spring! It will be hear soon enough!
