What's With All the Hair and Other Tidbits?

So to follow up on my previous post on the perils of shaving whilst preggers, I just have to mention the ungodly amount of hair that comes with being pregnant.  All the books mention how your hair will become thick and luscious and maybe appear on your upper lip...or nipples.  But they seem to leave out, or maybe I just blocked out the part where they mention hair in other areas growing like crazy.  I mean, I know it's the hormones, but why is it necessary to have hair on my stomach, or between my boobs, or on my cheeks...or fingers?!  Just seems unnecessary.  And really what's a girl to do?  It's hard enough to shave my legs on a semi-regular basis, let alone to de-hair the rest of me.  Oh well, it's a small price to pay.
In other news, summer really has arrived here in Indiana.  The temps are firmly set in the 90 degree area and will probably stay there or rise even higher until fall decides to arrive.  Which means I am more than ready for fall!  I am not loving this heat!  Nor are my poor rapidly swelling feet and ankles!  Because some people are asking, thought I'd say how Josh is handling the new baby.  He's adjusting to the idea that after almost 12 years as an only child, he now has to share the glory with another person!  I don't know if he really understands what a change he's in for, but for now he's just happy that he's getting a brother instead of a sister.  He said he just didn't know what you're supposed to do with girls, lol.  Not only is he getting a little brother, but we will be welcoming a cousin/neice into our family sometime in the next month as Jon's brother and sister-in-law are expecting!  I'm excited that our little dude will have a cousin so close in age to grow up with!  So many changes coming for our family!  Lastly, we met with out maternity photographer tonight and planned/scheduled out session!  I am so excited about her ideas!  I can't wait until Oct 5th to go take them!!!

The Great Shaving Experiment

Oy.  Lemme tell ya, shaving is quite an adventure while you're pregnant.  Oh sure its no problem in the first trimester.  There I was shaving my legs wondering why women make such a big deal about shaving during pregnancy.  I kinda wish I could go back in time and slap my 12 week along self.  Because once that belly starts burgeoning, shaving becomes something you put off as long as possible.  It becomes a process.  You start mentally preparing yourself a few days in advance, but only once you've reached Sasquatch status because ladies, that's what maxi dresses were made for in my opinion.  Only once that leg hair is catching on the sheets do I bother to break out that razor.  So I build myself up knowing that in a couple days, I will be exhausting myself in the name of beauty.  Then the day comes.  You sigh and step into the shower and glare that torture device known as a razor.  And then you wonder if it would really hurt too much to just go get waxed.  Then you realize that with a babe on the way you should go low cost and just shave.  Now comes the Olympic event.  You contort yourself into uncomfortable positions in an attempt to get your legs shaved.  Oh and every couple weeks, you work on your hoo ha.  But let's be honest that only happens if you owe your husband a favor because even having to bare all to your doctor won't get you to go through that torture at this point. The upside is that at the end of it all, you are totally entitled to a nice long nap.  And you will need it.  At least, I do. Let's face it.  By the time I reach my third trimester my razor will be long forgotten.  I'm going nature girl.

My Pregnancy Reading List

Below are my favorite books that I've read so far in my pregnancy.

OMG

I'M PREGNANT!!!!!  I won't be posting this until after we tell everyone, but I just had to get this out! So when you read this, it'll be old, but oh well.  I am so over the moon excited!  I'll be 4 weeks on Tuesday if my calculations are correct.  Also, if they're correct, I'm due November 19th!  My boobs and nips had been killing me for a few days, so Friday I decided I'd take a test in the morning.  I won't be late for my period until Tuesday, but I just couldn't wait!  So when I woke up at 4:30pm Saturday morning, I just did it!  When it came up positive I squealed a little bit and yes,  I jumped up and down, lol.  Then I jumped back into bed and told Jon, "I'm pregnant!"  He responded with, "Oh....WOW."  LOL, I think he was just still half asleep.  Anywho, I'm going to wait until Wednesday or Thursday and test again just to make double sure, then I'll make an appointment with my doctor.  I can't wait to tell people!  We won't until I'm 8 weeks, and I am pretty sure this is going to be extremely hard for me! Well, that's it!  I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!

Starting Fresh

And I'm back!  The short story is we were trying to get pregnant, I was frustrated b/c it wasn't going well.  Then my sister-in-law accidentally got pregnant and while I was super happy for them, I needed a break from everything to deal with my emotions.  Then we got pregnant and I was too tired to do anything.  Where are we now?  I'm 21 weeks along with a bouncing baby BOY!  And what follows from here on out is an honest, open, sometimes TMI story of my life!
